I’m blown away with the two key speakers we have scheduled for the Latin Bridge Retreat ’12! Both men have been used by God to lead church planting movements in two different countries, on two different continents, in two different languages and cultures. Their combined experience might surpass that of any other conference of 2012. You can’t miss the Latin Bridge Retreat ’12!!
Get to know the speakers:
First Speaker – Randy Stirewalt has been a church planting missionary in Kenya, Africa since 1976. During his 1st term on the field, God allowed him to plant 3 churches. On his 2nd term he added an additional 7 churches to the ministry. On the 3rd term, God allowed him to start 10 more. In the 4th and 5th terms, the ministry exploded due to discipleship and multiplication principles. Today, 35 years since the first church plant, over 280 churches have been started in three different countries with an average combined Sunday attendance of 38,000 believers. Also, he has started 4 Bible colleges to provide continual training for the pastors and leaders.
Bro. Stirewalt will be speaking in the Bonus Activity Friday morning and will open the retreat’s first session on Friday afternoon in Atlanta. You will not want to miss his wisdom and advice about church planting and leader training.
Second Speaker – Austin Gardner served in Peru for nearly 20 years as a church planting missionary. During those years, God allowed more than 80 churches to be planted throughout the country. He started a Bible college in southern Peru that has trained hundreds for the ministry. During the past decade, Pastor Gardner has focused on training church planting missionaries globally while personally planting a new church in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta. His personal mentorship approach as helped shape missionaries that are today serving in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, China, South Africa, Burkina Faso, and Ireland. His international experience and church planting heart will undoubtedly ignite a passion in each attendees’ heart. Pastor Gardner will be the keynote speaker for the remaining sessions of the Latin Bridge Retreat ’12.
Fresh from the field – Jeff, Chris, and Jason are the other special guest that will be along for the retreat – Jeff Bush serves in Argentina, Chris Gardner in Peru, and Jason Holt in Chile. These three guys are all in their 30s and could help encourage you about the opportunities and challenges of church planting in today’s Latin American context. Enjoy spending time with them and others during the informal times of the retreat.
